163 pages, each displaying two six-panel strips that appeared weekly in The Mountain-Ear, a newspaper published for and about the folk who lived in and around Nederland, Colorado - many of whom were as odd or odder than the characters that occupied the strips. None, though, probably odder than the cartoonist himself, whose principal drive during the whole seven years represented here, and for almost twice that number to follow, was to arrive once a week at a punchline. Sometimes he actually did.
